Do I need fly fishing experience to book a trip?
No experience? No problem. Whether you're a total beginner or seasoned angler, we tailor each trip to your skill level and goals.
What gear do I need to bring?
We provide high-quality rods, reels, flies, and waders. You’re welcome to bring your own gear if you prefer — just let us know in advance.
What kind of trout can I catch?
We primarily target wild brown and rainbow trout. Some rivers offer trophy-size fish, especially in remote backcountry areas.
How physically demanding are the trips?
Trips range from easy-access locations to rugged backcountry missions. Let us know your fitness level and we’ll recommend the right option.
Do I need a fishing license?
Yes — all anglers in New Zealand need a valid Fish & Game license. We’ll help you get the correct one before your trip.
Can I keep the fish I catch?
We promote catch and release to protect our fisheries, especially in the backcountry. However, some waters allow you to keep a fish if you wish.
Do you offer multi-day trips or custom packages?
Absolutely. We offer single-day, multi-day, and fully guided custom adventures. Just get in touch and we’ll build the perfect package.
Is food provided on the trip?
For full-day and multi-day trips, yes — we provide lunches, snacks, and drinks. Let us know about any dietary needs in advance.
